Focus and Discipline

December 3, 2014 / Marjorie Larner / What We Can Do

History teaches us that negative forces will always try to smear and distort those on the side of justice, that is nothing new. But it is up to us to keep marching forward — for victory is made up by those that remain focused and disciplined. Rev. Al Sharpton

Technology didn’t work for yesterday’s post that was about discipline and focus overcoming personalized emotional reactions to what seemed to me to be incompetent, unfair, wrong headed. Technology breakdown turns out to be the perfect metaphor for not taking obstacles personally. The internet certainly is not out to get me personally. My computer is doing its best, adjusting to always updating software, getting older in its hardware, and a wifi provider who may not care if it scrambles up signals so my computer gets confused.

Discipline and focus not to get distracted, rattled, bogged down, by obstacles. They are not about me and my frustrations or hurts. Keep marching forward.
