Inspired though tired

May 11, 2015 / Marjorie Larner / What We Can Do

“A teacher who is attempting to teach, without inspiring the pupil with a desire to learn, is hammering on a cold iron.” -Horace Mann, educational reformer (4 May 1796-1859)

How do we inspire our students? That is the question that student teachers and veteran teachers all struggle to answer. We have some answers—-connect to application for something they care about in real life, connect to an important question that matters to them, spark curiosity so they even have a question, touch their hearts….find your own inspiration—they catch your mood and energy.

How do teachers say they find inspiration? When students are excited and engaged with learning, when the topic or process is fascinating, addresses their questions, solves puzzles or problems that matter.

Find inspiration for yourself in order to inspire your students.
