In all the debate of public education, in all the arguments in defense of public education, we have not remembered to talk about the unique deep and powerful love that can develop between students and their teachers. We see and hear testimonials and may pass them by. You almost have to feel it to understand what happens–the mutual respect, appreciation and  admiration. The caring….this video that is on many sites reminded me at this ending of summer break that when we say we keep going because we love kids, we care about kids, it is a life force that is amazing to experience.
