Graduation is in sight for seniors and teacher interns. Though they have a mountain of work to climb before the end, they also talk about their plans, their hopes, their concerns. I remember dreams they’ve shared in the past.
My wishes for them tumble through my mind. Once, for my oldest son’s college graduation, I gave him a book with my wishes for him. That list has not changed.
This year, I am going to create a list of wishes for graduating teacher interns and ask them to make their own lists. Instead of talking about goals, we will talk about What We Wish. I know it will not be as personal or specific as what I imagined for my own child, yet still I carry dreams for every student I see.
The list for my son, will hopefully provide inspiration.
